The Airshow

These pics are from awhile ago but I thought I'd write about something since I haven't blogged in a bit. They actually took place the day after we got back from our trip to Maine....it was sort of crazy really. We'd just gotten home and then decided to turn around and drive back up to Rapid City for an airshow the next day - we sat in the truck weaving through Ellsworth Airforce Base to get to a parking spot forever!!!
There were several planes there that you could get in and look around but they had really long lines so we just peeked around.I bet a pair of these in the backyard could come in handy! This guy, probably thought he was pretty cool, but it was neat looking to see him up there sitting and watching the airshow.

Because of our timing we didn't actaully see much of the actaul flying that went on during the airshow, but it was still fun to see the planes and just be in the middle of an atmosphere where the military was looked up to and honored for what they do. When checking out this helicopter Logan talked for a bit with the airmen that was watching it and he was ready and willing to answer all Logan's questions and show him around. He also got to sit in a Humvee which, as he now knows, Daddy used to fix when he was a Marine. One of the last things we saw were the jumpers that dropped from super high and made accurate landings right on their target. Although the lines were long and our noses were sundburned it was still pretty fun! Hopefully before long I'll get this blog back on track and up to date!
