Arrived in Lican Ray

Well, here we are - ready for our second night at the camp in Lican Ray - we are all hoping its a little warmer than last night=) We arrived safely and had a pretty good ride on a VERY comfortable bus! We spent the day on Sunday relaxing again and taking showers and naps - then late afternoon we headed to camp to 'move in'. Unfortunately, while Dan and Liz Thompson were here getting us settled, their house was broken into and many valuables and electronics were stolen. They actually didn't loose as much as Greg, their visiting cousin. All his electronic items were stolen as well as the laptop belonging to the general director, Terry Thompson - also here visiting. Such is life in Chile!
Here is a picture from back in STGO - the presidential palace, there were a couple weddings taking place there! Here is some of our luggage - taking up most of the space in Dan & Liz's kitchen!Micah being hospitable and showing the baby chickens to the other kids=)Our welcome to camp Lican - "God Bless you ~ Welcome"Today we started work! Some of the things we managed to get done included: preparing the existing slab for a 3" inch re-pour, pre-treating some of the wood for termites, felling a tree beside where the missionaries house is going, fixing a clogged plumbing drain line, burning brush and branches left over from some of the trees that were cut down for the construction, etc. Throughout the day we are being fed very well by the same Chilean cooks that have been making meals for this camp since I was here as a kid!
Greg cutting up some trees, felled both to clear space and to use for lumber.Burning brush=)Todd milling some lumberMatthew and Justin worked on a plugged septic line.....=(Jamie and Liz treating the house lumber for termitesI know everyone is dying for some pictures and I will work on getting those posted soon! But with pictures on one computer and internet on the other it doesn't go as quickly!
