Last Monday was Alana's 5th birthday. We celebrated a little bit with her that day and then had the party on Thursday, which we combined with Jesse's as his 3rd birthday is next Tuesday. First thing Monday morning she opened her present from Grammie and Grampy which she'd been eyeing over since it arrived several days earlier. Then I made up a pan of brownies because Alana did not believe she could turn 5 without blowing out candles (on a side note after blowing out another set of candles at the party on Thursday night she thought she must have just turned 6).
Her favorite part was the butterflies on top, my favorite part was the chocolate=)
Monica wanted to give her the present she had for her as well, so she opened up a game of "Candyland" and then these 3 played a game together.....don't ask me, but I think Monica may be regretting her choice of gift=)
But the little two sure enjoy playing with their big sister.
Then on Thursday night we had the actual birthday party which was for both her and Jesse. And it all starts with the cake....
Logan was soooo excited about his choice of presents for his two siblings (while Mommy was a little scared). He got one pink and one orange mini leatherman for them....and one for himself=)
And Jenna scored big with her gift of a bead/watch making kit which Alana played with all the next day. The first one she made was one for Jenna - who when she received it promptly put it on and wore it proudly=) Talk about making a little girls day!

Speaking of Jenna....here she is with that weird guy she hangs out with.
And then came their present to Jesse - he loved his goggles and nail gun that makes noise (!)
Then we brought out his big present which was a new bicycle - he was pretty excited about that one as well=)
For a cake I couldn't think of one to do that would suit both girl and boy, so I made two of them. Here was Alana's ice cream cone....
